Fabrizio Romano Shares Update on Marcus Rashford's Man Utd Future

Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on the future of Marcus Rashford at Manchester United this summer in his exclusive GIVEMESPORT newsletter.

The Red Devils are looking to strengthen their attack during the transfer window for Ruben Amorim with a deal to sign Matheus Cunha already completed, while a move for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo is imminent with a medical expected to take place next week.

But the club are currently also working on departures of several stars, including academy star Rashford, but a move away is proving to be difficult currently.

Rashford Expected to Leave Man Utd

Nothing currently imminent

After a public fall-out with manager Amorim, Rashford spent the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan with Aston Villa and got back to somewhere near his best with some excellent performances.

But despite that there is seemingly no way back for him at his boyhood club, and Romano has revealed that while nothing is currently imminent it is still expected that Rashford will be sold this summer.

"Nothing imminent, like in the next hours. But he’s still expected to go this summer."

The 27-year-old is keen to play Champions League football in the 2025/26 season and has made a move to La Liga with Barcelona a priority option, although it remains to be seen if a deal can be agreed.

Barcelona have made Nico Williams their top target for the left-wing position and are close to sealing that deal, but the Catalan giants have also shown an interest in the England international and have opened talks with Man Utd about a potential loan deal.

Rashford, who currently earns £300,000-a-week at Old Trafford, still has three years remaining on his contract with the club. Man Utd are prepared to let him leave for a fee of £40m, but they are yet to receive any offers for the forward.
