Liverpool fans think £75m player could be headed to Anfield after seeing what Curtis Jones has just done

Liverpool are looking to build on their fantastic season, as they look to strengthen their team on the back of Premier League glory.

The Reds have already signed Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen. Liverpool also have a record-breaking deal agreed for Florian Wirtz while Milos Kerkez is also expected to join the Merseyside giants.

Anthony Gordon has been linked with a move to Liverpool, and midfielder Curtis Jones has now done something that has fuelled transfer talks among fans.

Fans react to Curtis Jones’ latest picture with Liverpool-linked Anthony Gordon

Jones posted a picture with the Newcastle star on holiday together with a fingers-crossed emoji.

Fans were quick to react to the post, with some calling Jones an agent working on getting the £75m rated Gordon to sign for Liverpool.

Another wrote: “Agent Jones!”

A third wrote: “Bring Gordon home”

Some were quick to point out that Jones is best friends with Gordon, suggesting that the pair being together is nothing transfer-related, with one saying: “Not gonna overthink this. It’s just folks hanging out together”

Another added: “They’re close friends and have been for years. This doesn’t prove anything”

Some Newcastle fans jokingly suggested that it is the other way round, with Gordon trying to convince Jones to sign for Newcastle: “Ye Curtis to Newcastle. Here we go”, one said.

Another added: “Curtis to Newcastle is confirmed.”

And several Liverpool fans were not in favour of the club’s reported interest in Gordon.

“Hope he doesn’t join because he’s not better than what we have at the moment”

Another said: “Why this fanbase wants Gordon is beyond me.”

Alexander Isak remains a strong target for Liverpool

While there have been reports of Liverpool’s interest in signing Gordon, there are more concrete links with Alexander Isak.

TBR Football has previously reported that Liverpool view Isak as their ‘dream’ signing, with the Reds said to be in pole position to sign him.

And the latest from TBR Football suggests that Liverpool could look to spend over £100m for the second time this transfer window, with the Reds willing to splash the cash on a new striker.

The focus of the club will reportedly turn to sales after completing the signing of Wirtz and Kerkez, with the club then focusing on a new number nine after making the necessary sales.
