Manchester United suffer financial blow ahead of 2025/26 seasonMan Utd have sponsorship deals with several companies but Marriott International have ended their agreement.Marriott International have ended their sponsorship.Marriott International's sponsorship agreement with Manchester United has ended.United have been sponsored by Marriott International since 2019, but the world's largest hotel company has decided not to extend its sponsorship agreement after its contract expired.Marriott International are cutting company-wide costs and opted against extending their deal.Club sources have said they are "proud of their successful partnership with Marriott", and they insist United continue to have the most attractive portfolio of partnerships in football.Last November, Marriott International announced a radical cost-saving programme, although the hotel chain agreed a new deal with the Football Association (FA) in April and still sponsors the Mercedes F1 team.Marriott International allowed members to redeem loyalty points for United-related experiences and ran a competition to win an overnight stay in a specialist hotel suite at Old Trafford.Article continues belowAndrew Watson, the vice-president of marketing for Marriott International, has said the sponsorship of the Mercedes team is one of the most successful in its sponsorship portfolio.“Being able to tell and amplify the travel story through the lens of F1, where there are 24 global races across five continents, gives us new ways to connect with these sports fans and educate them on the value of Marriott Bonvoy," said Watson in an interview with SportBusiness.United recently released their financial results for the first three months of 2025, which revealed a more encouraging picture after concerning comments from Sir Jim Ratcliffe about finances."The club remains committed to, and in compliance with, both the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules and UEFA’s Financial Fair Play Regulations," they said in a statement accompanying the results.The positive results have seen the club increase their expected revenue for the financial year ending June 2025 to £660million to £670million, which would be a return to the levels they were posting before the Covid-19 pandemic put a hole in the balance sheet.---Here at The Manchester Evening News, we are dedicated to bringing you the best Manchester United coverage and analysis.Make sure you don't miss out on the latest United news by joining our free WhatsApp group.
