Man Utd's next transfer priority becomes clear as Ruben Amorim decides on five players

Manchester United have made two big signings in Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha and Ruben Amorim's next job is to make sure his unwanted group of players find new clubs ahead of the new season

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim will turn his attentions to selling five unwanted players after sealing a move for top target Bryan Mbeumo - with Marcus Rashford on the brink of becoming the first exit.

United rounded off lengthy talks with Brentford by sealing a £71million transfer for the Cameroonian forward and Amorim's next priority is offloading his five unwanted players who have been excluded from the team's pre-season tour in the United States.

Amorim named a 32-man squad to travel to the US but Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia have all been left at home after being told to find new clubs.

Rashford, who fell out with Amorim last season over his training performances, is set to become the first of that group to depart after jetting out to Barcelona to complete his loan switch. An announcement is expected imminently.

The England star is set to take a pay cut on his £325,000-a-week wages for the duration of his spell, with Barcelona covering his salary and having a £26m option to buy next summer.

Garnacho has also rowed with Amorim after criticising his manager's decision to drop him for the Europa League final defeat to Spurs and slamming their season as "s***". He has been linked with Aston Villa, Tottenham, Chelsea and Napoli.

Jadon Sancho, meanwhile, spent last season on loan with Chelsea but failed to impress as the Blues paid a £5m penalty to send him back to Old Trafford - and now he looks likely to join Juventus, though reports in Italy claim the Serie A side are "stalling" on the deal.

Antony is also looking for a new club after dazzling while on loan at Real Betis last season, scoring nine goals, though it remains to be seen whether the Spanish side will be able to secure his signature for another season. Malacia has not played for United since January and spent the second half of last season on loan at PSV.

Another player who hasn't travelled with United to the US is defender Harry Maguire due to "person reasons" - but the England centre-back is still expected to link up with his team-mates this week.

United are looking to the future after getting Mbeumo over the line, joining fellow new signing Matheus Cunha - who arrived for £62.5m from Wolves - and the player himself has admitted he is excited to learn from Amorim.

“As soon as I knew there was a chance to join Manchester United, I had to take the opportunity to sign for the club of my dreams; the team whose shirt I wore growing up. “My mentality is to always be better than I was yesterday.

"I know that I have the spirit and character to reach another level here learning from Ruben Amorim and playing alongside world-class players.

"Everybody told me about the environment that is being created here and how exciting the plans are for the future. This is a massive club, with an incredible stadium and amazing fans, we are all really determined to challenge for the biggest trophies."
