Pakistan women's cricket team starts training camp in Karachi ahead of Ireland tour

KARACHI – The Pakistan women’s cricket team on Tuesday commenced a skills and fitness training camp in Karachi as part of its preparations for the upcoming T20I series against Ireland.

The camp began on Tuesday, with 24 probable players called up for intensive training. Head coach Mohammad Wasim is supervising the camp as commandant, while the players undergo two training sessions daily.

The opening day of the camp featured a three-hour morning session starting at 9:30 am, focusing on physical fitness, fielding drills, and net practice. The second session is scheduled from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm each day.

During the camp, selectors will finalise a 15-member national squad. The selected players will then participate in a final phase of training from July 28 to August 2, which will focus on modern cricketing techniques and match preparedness.

According to the tour schedule, the national women’s team will depart for Ireland on August 3. The three-match T20 International series between Pakistan and Ireland will be held in Dublin.

The 24 players participating in the camp include: Muneeba Ali, Sidra Ameen, Sadaf Shams, Aliya Riaz, Iman Fatima, Gul Feroza, Shawaal Zulfiqar, Natalia Parvaiz, Sidra Nawaz, Omaima Sohail, Rameen Shamim, Fatima Sana Khan, Syeda Aroob Shah, Tuba Hassan, Sidra Iqbal, Nashra Sandhu, Diana Baig, Waheeda Akhtar, Nahya Sharmin, Saira Jabeen, Umme Hani, Huma Bilal, and Zaib-un-Nisa.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) did not grant media access to cover the training sessions.
