The Pittsburgh Steelers have had a very busy offseason. Pittsburgh acquired DK Metcalf in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks at the beginning of the offseason, followed by the signing of four-time MVP and future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers to a one year deal worth up to $20 million. The Steelers then proceeded to acquire Jalen Ramsey and Jonnu Smith from the Miami Dolphins in exchange of Minkah Fitzpatrick, as Pittsburgh will find themselves with multiple new faces on both sides of the ball in 2025.Alysa Rubin / Pittsburgh Steelers Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (8) practices at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex during the 2025 minicamp, Tuesday June 10, 2025.The Steelers most recently signed superstar linebacker TJ Watt to a three-year extension, as the veteran is now the highest paid non-quarterback in the history of football. Despite a plethora of new faces on the Steelers' roster, many feel as if the team can still upgrade the safety and wide receiver positions. Ramsey could see time at free safety throughout 2025 as well, as the veteran has been rumored to take snaps at free safety during training camp.As speculation continues to surround Pittsburgh's secondary, Steelers insider Mark Kaboly took a moment to share his thoughts on the situation."I don't think Omar is done yet." Kaboly stated.Kaboly then went on to highlight Pittsburgh's need for a safety, claiming he believes that the team may add talent at the position prior to the start of the regular season."I think they will acquire a safety at some point."Kaboly's comments are most likely not surprising to many, as fans have continued to express their concerns on social media with the current state of the Steelers' safety depth.Ramsey continues to emerge as a legitimate possibility, but the veteran would more than likely be at the top of his game playing cornerback. Cooper had a down year in 2024, as the five time Pro Bowler will look to bounce back on a new roster in 2025. Davis thrived in Buffalo playing with Josh Allen, as the five-year veteran will look to get back on track with a new team. Davis reportedly had an excellent visit to Pittsburgh earlier in the offseason, as the former Bill is expected to sign with a team in the near future. As rumors continue to circulate regarding the Steelers' next move, Pittsburgh's front office is reportedly going to continue leaving all options on the table and will take their time in making a decision. Ramsey remains as a legitimate option at free safety, but the team will more than likely opt to add talent at the position sooner rather than later. With the start of training camp continuing to get closer, fans should continue to monitor the front office's activity on the free agency market.
