Manchester United are facing a bold decision over their current managerial situation, as Ruben Amorim comes under increasing pressure. The Red Devils slumped to a 15th-placed finish in the Premier League last season, as performances and results left fans wanting more. After a summer of heavy recruitment, Manchester United were ready to go again with a squad slightly better suited to Ruben Amorim and his style.Plenty has been spent on the forward areas in particular, adding Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha. So far, the results have been mixed as the side sit in tenth with ten points from their opening seven matches.Pressure is increasing on Amorim’s job, and for former Man United captain Roy Keane, the replacement is obvious.Roy Keane wants Diego Simeone to replace Ruben Amorim at Manchester UnitedAs it stands, Man United seem unlikely to sack Amorim soon, though the pressure continues to be piled on him.The manager will need better results, and fast, to help turn things around and ease the concerns over his future. If there is to be a change at the top, however, Roy Keane has called for Diego Simeone to come in and take over.Speaking on The Overlap, he said: “I’ve said it for years. I’d like to see… I’d like to come into it… Simeone. I’d like to see him going down. I think he’d cause havoc, but good havoc.“So, no guarantee, but I just like to see his personality. I think I’ll go with that.“People might think football, ‘they scored five last week’, this idea that he’s defensive. Yeah, he doesn’t… doesn’t like to see if you’ve got too many ball chances.“The team and his players from a few years ago… but it’s that fighting spirit. He’s on the sideline causing… you know, you’ve got to go like a big person. He gets talented players working, yeah, in a ridiculous way.”It would be quite the stunning move, given Simeone’s long-running association with Atletico Madrid, his style of play and personality. However, it may be the sort of change that Manchester United need.Diego Simeone’s managerial recordDiego Simeone has had quite the managerial career, spending time with Racing Club, Estudiantes, River Plate, San Lorenzo and Catania before his big break at Atletico Madrid. He has now taken charge of nearly 750 games with the Spanish giants, leading them to glory in domestic competition and within touching distance of success on the European stage. It’s no surprise that he is seen as a legendary figure for Atletico, while he has plenty of stature within the wider game itself.Whether that could translate to the Premier League and Manchester United is a different question, however.
