Aisam vows to make tennis Pakistan’s 2nd most popular sport

LAHORE: Pakistan Tennis Federation President Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi has stated his ambition to make tennis the second most popular sport in the country.

Speaking to the media, tennis star Aisam-ul-Haq said that a training camp will be set up in Turkey for the Pakistani team’s preparation for the Davis Cup. He highlighted that the junior team won the Davis Cup, while the seniors secured a gold medal for Pakistan in Turkey.

Aisam-ul-Haq mentioned that the Serena Tennis Masters Cup, being played until March 26th, will feature the top eight players in the ladies’, men’s, and doubles categories, with a total prize pool of ten lakh rupees. He further added that Pakistan will compete against Paraguay in the Davis Cup tie and that they are organizing a tennis tournament for top players for the first time during Ramazan.
