Recapping and analyzing the Seattle Seahawks’ intriguing Football Fan Fest practice

Seattle Seahawks training camp made its way from team headquarters in Renton to Lumen Field for the annual Football Fan Fest. It was a busy day already in SoDo due to the Seattle Mariners’ day game against the Texas Rangers, so it was possible to double dip and head from T-Mobile Park to Lumen Field for a full Saturday afternoon of sports.

The Seahawks practiced for about 90 minutes in front of a lively, family-friendly crowd. Like last year, this was not a mock game akin to what fans were accustomed to seeing under Pete Carroll. However, we did see a lot of situational 11-on-11 drills and game-like simulations in pads, so that should more than suffice.

Myself, Brandon Cain, Bryce Coutts, and Dan Viens were all in attendance for this scrimmage and we recorded a video with our instant analysis before we went out to a lovely dinner on the waterfront. You’ll have to forgive us for the audio quality because, well, we’re filming outside the stadium and that’s not exactly a quiet place. This was also recorded before any injury updates from Mike Macdonald.

A more thorough write-up of training camp will be up on shortly after this goes live, but in the meantime I think you’ve got the attention span to watch a 14-minute video! We assess how well the quarterbacks looked, the offensive line combinations, which players stood out/struggled, and of course we have to zero in on some of the higher profile rookies. I think you’ll appreciate Bryce’s eagle-eyed observation regarding Christian Haynes, which is why we haven’t been seeing him in team drills.
