Manchester United put the disappointment of their Carabao Cup exit at the hands of Grimsby Town behind them with a dramatic 3-2 win over Burnley at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Burnley twice came from behind after a Josh Cullen own goal and Bryan Mbeumo's first Premier League goal for the Reds, but Bruno Fernandes' penalty kick in stoppage time was enough to secure all three points.

United's international stars will now head off to represent their countries as club football is paused for the next fortnight, and the break may have come at a good time for United after they picked up some injury worries on Saturday.

With that in mind, here is a look at the current injury situation at United heading into the September international break.

Matheus Cunha

Injury: Hamstring

Cunha pulled up clutching his hamstring in the win over Burnley and was replaced by Joshua Zirkzee in the first half.

He has withdrawn from the Brazil squad for their forthcoming World Cup qualifiers and Amorim is hopeful the injury isn't too serious.

The United boss said: “It was hard to lose Cunha and Mason Mount, because Mason Mount played 30 minutes with an injury.

“I’m concerned about that, because they are so important for us. We will see. I don’t know [how they are], I don’t know. We will check them. We need those guys really bad to be really competitive.”

Mason Mount

Injury: Unknown

Mount was excellent in the first half of the win over Burnley but was replaced by Kobbie Mainoo at half-time.

Amorim revealed he played 30 minutes with an injury and after his injury-riddled first two seasons at the club, United will be hopeful his positive start to the season won't be curtailed by another knock.

Estimated return date: Unknown

Lisandro Martinez

Injury: Knee
