WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Charlotte men's tennis wrapped up its fall season at the Wake Forest Invite over the weekend, highlighted by strong tournament runs from Vasco Prata and Jack DiMenna in singles and a trio of doubles teams advancing to the final rounds of their respective draws.SINGLES RECAP In the A1 Singles draw, senior Vasco Prata continued his steady form, advancing to the semifinals after a pair of quality wins. Prata rallied past NC State's Noah Gabriel in the Round of 16, 3-6, 6-1, 6-1, before downing East Tennessee State's Kai Cowcher, 6-2, 7-6 (3), in the quarterfinals. His run ended in the semifinals with a 6-3, 6-2 loss to South Carolina's Sean Daryabeigi.Also in A1 Singles, Andres Medus fell in the Round of 16 to Duke's Alexander Visser, 6-3, 6-1.In A2 Singles, Ivan Dreycopp opened with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Cleveland State's Lincoln Battle before dropping his quarterfinal match to East Tennessee State's Martin Vergara Del Puerto, 6-2, 6-4.Brett Gloria fell just short in a three-set battle against Duke's Teddy Truwit, 4-6, 7-6 (6), 7-5, while Emilio Sanchez Bronzetti was edged in three sets as well, 6-1, 3-6, 6-2.Moritz Muenster competed in the B Singles draw, falling in the Round of 16, 6-2, 6-4.In the D Singles bracket, freshman Jack DiMenna made a run to the championship match. DiMenna defeated Elon's Luke Forester, 6-3, 6-1, in the Round of 16, NC A&T's Gabriel Linovic, 6-1, 6-3, in the quarterfinals, and Georgia Southern's Matthew Mitchell, 6-3, 6-1, in the semifinals before falling in the final to James Madison's Harrison Lee, 6-2, 6-0.DOUBLES RECAP In A1 Doubles, Vasco Prata and Ivan Dreycopp advanced to the semifinals after defeating NC A&T's Mathieu Dussaubat and Kaua Santos, 6-4, in the quarterfinals. The pair fell in the semis to South Carolina's Gabe Avram and Charlie Swaine, 6-2.Moritz Muenster and Emilio Sanchez Bronzetti made a strong run in the A2 Doubles draw, earning wins over Edoardo Santoni and Gregoire Delattre (6-2) and NC State's Cody Benton and Charlie Camus (7-6 [6]) to reach the final. The duo ultimately fell in the championship match to South Carolina's Sean Daryabeigi and Paul Barbier Gazeu, 6-2.In the B1 Doubles draw, Jack DiMenna and Brett Gloria advanced to the final after defeating VCU's Leon Zaorski and Patrik Petera, 7-5, and James Madison's Francisco Sinopoli and Esteve Agusti, 6-4. Their run ended in the championship match with a narrow 7-6 (4) loss to East Tennessee State's Kai Cowcher and Carlos Victor Ferreira Gonzales.In B2 Doubles, Andres Medus and Danny Yassine dropped their quarterfinal match to Cleveland State's Tristan Stine and Nicholas Jamison, 6-4.Charlotte's appearance at the Wake Forest Invite marked the conclusion of its 2025 fall tournament schedule.
