There could be a big lull for England after their trip to Latvia if results go their way in the World Cup qualifying group. However, Thomas Tuchel is only interested in taking three points. The Three Lions have played qualifiers against Albania, Latvia, Andorra twice and Serbia, winning all five fixtures under the new manager to sit at the top of their group with 15 points. If they defeat Latvia for the second time this year, they could have wrapped up their spot at the 2026 World Cup.If that happens, the visit of Serbia and the trip to Albania next month will not be ‘competitive’ clashes in the same sense. So, England are in a position where they could have to wait a very long time between their last competitive contest and their first fixture of the World Cup campaign. It is not a problem that Tuchel wishes to think too much about as all eyes are on winning tomorrow.“This will be a long break. But it is what it is. the point is to not to not dwell on problems but to find solutions and to turn it around and find solutions that then we have maybe an advantage out of it.“My thoughts are not about November now because it will change a lot if we can fix qualification or not. So this is where all the energy goes at the moment. When I say I expect a win, I expect first of all a performance that that that makes us the deserved winners. I know good enough it's never guaranteed to win football matches. Too many things can happen.“Luck and being unlucky is such a big part of the game. But we are in the moment where we expect the next uh good performance top performance from us and that should give us all the chances to win and then if we do that we talk about the next step but before we have full focus on tomorrow.”
