North Queensland Toyota Cowboys stalwart Jordan McLean will return for an eighth season at the club after agreeing to a one-year deal for 2025.

The 33-year-old prop has been the linchpin of the Cowboys pack since arriving in North Queensland in 2018 and also a steadying veteran presence during a period of transition which has seen the emergence of a number of young forwards in recent seasons.

On the field he continues to be a model of consistency, appearing in at least 22 games for four consecutive seasons.

Currently sitting on 137 Cowboys appearances, McLean will have the opportunity to become just the 19th player in club history to play 150 games for North Queensland in 2025.

“It’s great news for our club to secure Jordan McLean for another year,” Cowboys General Manager of Football Micheal Luck said.

“His on-field output was terrific last season, he continues to be a leader for us defensively in the middle of the park and his work with the football was excellent as well.

“His leadership quality was a really positive influence on our new captains in Reuben and Tom as well as the rest of the playing group.”
