Bailey Smith has charged home in the 2025 AFLCA Coaches Votes award, sharing the top honour with Gold Coast's Noah AndersonGeelong on-baller Bailey Smith and GOLD Coast midfielder Noah Anderson have tied for the 2025 Sharp EIT Solutions AFL Coaches Association’s AFL Champion Player of the Year Award, closing out one of the tightest-fought races in the award’s history.Smith and Anderson both finished the season with 103 votes, with the star midfielders claiming nine votes apiece in their final games of the season to win the prestigious award for the first time in their emerging careers.The count came down to the final match of the season in the re-scheduled round 24 game against Essendon, as Anderson’s 34-disposal and three-goal performance powered the Suns to their first finals appearance in club history and Anderson to the top of the leaderboard alongside Smith.Matt Rowell was awarded seven votes in the same game against the Bombers to move into second-place (97), while Collingwood’s Nick Daicos (93), Melbourne’s Max Gawn (92) and Adelaide’s Jordan Dawson (90) rounded out the top five.FULL VOTES & LEADERBOARD00:47Geelong coach Chris Scott praised Smith on his recognition from the coaches in his first season at the Cats.“Bailey has had an immediate impact on and off the field in his first year at the Cats.” Scott said.“He is a fierce competitor who has a great desire to get the best out of himself.
