Ace India batter Virat Kohli gifted his autographed jersey to Mohammed Siraj at the end of the Sydney Test earlier this year, which turned out to be his final outing in India whites and the picture of the framed jersey on the wall of Siraj’s home went viral on social media on Saturday, August 9.

For Siraj, the jersey expectedly represents much more than just a garment from one of India’s cricketing legends. It stands as a symbol of respect, camaraderie and the battles they have fought together on cricket’s grandest stages.

With 23 scalps to his name, Siraj emerged as the highest wicket-taker in the just-concluded Test tour of England, playing a key role in India holding the hosts to a 2-2 draw in an intensely fought five-match series.
