Juventus hero's old coach: 'He reminds me of Pogba...'

Vasilije Adzic was the hero for Juventus on Saturday evening, scoring a delightful long-range effort to grant the Bianconeri a monumental win over Inter in the first Derby d’Italia of the season.

It was a tumultuous contest, with the lead switch hands multiple times.

Inter had the lead heading into the final ten minutes but two goals from Juventus late-on turned the game on its head.

One of those goalscorers was Adzic, who scored in stoppage time to make the scoreline 4-3.

Juventus star’s goal ‘not a surprise, bit of Pogba about him’

Speaking to Tuttosport, Ivan Brnovic, who coached the Juventus starlet at his last club Buducnost Podgorica, revealed “I’ll say one thing right away. The goal, that kind of goal against Inter, isn’t a surprise to me. That’s Adzic’s value and now in Italy you’ll realise how much he’s worth.”

“He has it all,” the coach continued, “physicality, shooting, pace, hunger, determination. He’s an excellent assist-man and works hard when not in possession. For Juventus, tactical perfection is needed. But he’s a hard worker, in his position, for his age, he’s already among the top three in the world in my opinion.”

Brnovic also said that “He has a bit of Pogba about him but Vasilije is devastating in the short-term. Many here have compared him to Zvone Boban but it is difficult to compare two ways of playing football so different in time.”

The 19-year-old midfielder joined the Bianconeri from Buducnost in 2024 and has already played ten times for Juventus in all competitions.

This year, he also received his international debut for Montenegro and scored in it, a 2-2 draw with Armenia in a friendly match.

The tall and versatile midfielder may have the opportunity now to further stamp himself on this Juventus team, after scoring such an important goal in one of the biggest matches of the season.
