The Matildas have named a 23-player squad for their two-match international series against South Korea, with midfielder Katrina Gorry missing through injury.

Gorry withdrew from the Matildas' international camp after picking up an ankle injury in West Ham's 2-2 draw with Chelsea in the Women's Super League on the weekend.

Her absence opens up a spot in the squad for Melbourne City FC midfielder Leah Davidson.

Almost two months after her UK court case concluded, Sam Kerr remains a chance to regain the Matildas' captaincy following a meeting with the Football Australia board.

Davidson made her debut for Australia late last year and is in line for possible third and fourth caps for the Matildas in the series against the World number 19-ranked Taegeuk Ladies.

Game one of the series will be played on Friday night at the Sydney Football Stadium, while game two will be in Newcastle on Monday, April 7.

Sam Kerr has not been named in the squad, but she will link up with teammates in a non-playing capacity in Sydney this week after addressing her recent UK court case, where she was found not guilty on one charge of racially aggravated harassment of a police officer.

Kerr has not played since tearing her ACL during a Chelsea training camp in January last year.

Steph Catley will continue as skipper for the series.

Matildas squad:
