Benjamin Sesko has hit the ground running at Manchester United after joining from RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window.Benjamin Sesko insists he was always determined to join Manchester United ahead of sealing his 'dream' switch to Old Trafford despite significant interest from elsewhere, including rival Premier League sides. The Slovenia international completed his move during the summer as part of an attacking rebuild by United. Sesko was the sole recognised striker United brought in as they invested £200million in their forward line, also securing Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha. They faced competition for the striker's services, with Newcastle even making the first approach for the former RB Leipzig star. The £74million acquisition was also heavily linked with Arsenal throughout the summer.READ MORE : Huge Man United refereeing error spotted amid controversial VAR red card decisionREAD MORE : Benjamin Sesko shows true colours after Man United record huge Brighton winHowever, the Gunners were unable to reach an agreement and subsequently switched their focus to Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres.Transforming United's fortunes proved an appealing challenge for Sesko. Although he was gradually integrated into the team, he has now netted twice and grabbed one assist in his last four appearances and harbours no second thoughts about his decision."It's not just mine, but probably for loads of football players, it's just a dream," Sesko told Sky Sports. "Something that you want to achieve in your career, especially to play for a club like that."When I heard that I can move here and there are big possibilities that I can change clubs, especially to United, I was burning. It's something that I always wanted to have. It happened and I'm really happy."When asked if United was the only team he had his sights set on, Sesko responded: "Yeah. For me, this was a dream to play for a club like this and a stadium like this. It's something that I always wanted."After being dropped for last Sunday's win at Liverpool, Sesko returned to the starting XI for the visit of Brighton on Saturday and he notched his first assist in United colours during the game. The ex-Red Bull Salzburg man set up Bryan Mbeumo's first goal as the Reds ran out 4-2 winners at Old Trafford.Reflecting on his side's win against Brighton, Amorim said post-match: "I feel good. I think we played well but we suffered in the end, a little bit, our fault in the way we conceded the first goal."You can sense that, in that time of the game, we are near the fourth goal, not to suffer one. But they did everything. They run, they play with the ball, they kept the ball when it was needed. So it was a good game.""You have the game under control and then you suffer a goal," Amorim added. "And then we suffer a little bit. They have a lot of talent. They have a lot of quality with the ball and they control that and they use that momentum to control the game. But we are improving in the way we respond to bad moments, and today, we did it again."We respond a little bit better and that's really important. We know how to suffer. If we suffer together, it's so much easier to win games."Here at The Manchester Evening News, we are dedicated to bringing you the best Manchester United coverage and analysis.Make sure you don't miss out on the latest United news by joining our free WhatsApp group.
