11th Test hundred for the India batter, who has finally been given a settled position in the Test XI. Since his promotion to opening spot, Rahul has been near-flawless in his Test career.

He shows his mettle once again, hitting a patient century in 190 balls against the West Indian attack. Lovely. Lovely. Lovely.

India opener KL Rahul is nearing his second home Test hundred. The batter has been in sensational form in 2025-27 World Test Championship.

He is in his 90s and looks set for that milestone, his first home Test hundred since 2017.

Wicket against the run of play. India captain Shubman Gill falls. The West Indian spinners are bowling from round the wicket, targetting the rough patches created by Jayden Seales.

He tries to manufacture something out of the ordinary and loses his wicket.

56.6: Roston Chase to Shubman Gill, OUT! TAKEN! A wicket against the run of play, and the skipper of the Windies gets his counterpart. Chase bowls it full and keeps the line around off, gets it to drift away from the around-the-wicket angle. Shubman Gill gets down, changes his grip and attempts a reverse-sweep as there is no backward point fielder. But Gill is unable to get on top of the bounce and due to the extra bounce, it catches the top edge and goes towards first slip. Justin Greaves plucks it around his waist at first slip. Gill departs after an impressive innings of 50 (100). India are 188/3, leading by 26 runs.

As disciplined as the West Indian bowlers have been, it is looking like they are using the West Indies attack as batting practice. Yesterday, we said that this might turn out to be a very long series for the Roston Chase team, and it has stood true so far on Day 2 as well.

There was barely any crowd on Thursday, and there is no crowd today as well.

The BCCI probably needs to rethink its scheduling of Test matches.

In pitches where matches finish on the third day, starting a game on Thursday is an atrocious call. Also, the fact that the game started in holiday season - on Dusherra, needs to be questioned.

KL Rahul and Shubman Gill are steady at the crease. They are taking no chances against the West Indian attack which is disciplined in its lines and lengths.

This is pretty much a repeat of what we saw yesterday as well. India are respecting the pacers early in their innings. They respected the new ball yesterday evening. And today, against the oldish ball, India have been defensive to counter the reverse swing.

The surface in Ahmedabad is showing signs of reverse swing. The ball is 40 overs old and this is perhaps very good news for the fast bowlers and the captain. The question, however, remains whether they can capitalise on the same or not.

Justin Greaves and Jayden Seals have started with the ball today and have challenged batters on both edges.

Greaves is yet to find the correct line and has already give four byes down the leg side.

Lucky. Very lucky for KL Rahul. The India opener survives an early chance in the first over after restart.

Seales keeps KL Rahul on his toes, bowling through the off side channel. He bowls the final ball of the over a little tighter to Rahul and gets it to shape away from the batter. Rahul gets a thick outside edge and the ball flies through the first slip area.

Poor captaincy from Roston Chase to have his only slip very very wide. Rahul survives an early chance on Day 2.

The Indian cricket team will begin Day 2 with 121 runs on board for the loss of two wickets. India lost Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan late on Day 1 in otherwise a dominant day of play.

KL Rahul was the pick among the batters, showing his class from the very first ball. Rahul barely miss-hit a shot and remained on top of things throughout his 114-ball stay yesterday.
