Kylian Mbappe produces telling response when asked if he'll back Real Madrid or Bayern Munich

Kylian Mbappe has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer, but the PSG star is refusing to take questions on the Spanish side's clash with Bayern Munich

Kylian Mbappe rolled his eyes after being asked if he would be supporting Real Madrid in their Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich.

Mbappe and his PSG side crashed out of the competition on Tuesday night after being defeated by Borussia Dortmund. The Frenchman is out of contract at the Parc des Princes at the end of the season.

He looks set to join Madrid once he becomes a free agent in the summer, to finally bring an end to a long-running transfer chase. But until he moves to the Bernabeu, it appears the attacker is keen to avoid talking about his next club.

The superstar fronted up after PSG's exit from the Champions League, with Dortmund progressing to the final instead. The final question he faced concerned the other semi-final between Madrid and Bayern, which is currently 2-2 on aggregate.

Mbappe visibly rolled his eyes at the question as he also shrugged his shoulders. He then walked off to bring an end to his media availability, having earlier hinted he may play for PSG next season.

When asked whether he had played his last European game for PSG, he replied: “This season, that’s sure, it would have to be. Of course we are disappointed, we wanted to qualify for the final.

"In the Champions League you have to be effective in two areas, and on this point they were better than us so there you go. We are disappointed for the supporters, for those close to us, but that’s how it is.

"It’s a long process, but we showed through this season that we were capable of going far. I think the club is not far away. We had the ingredients to win, but as I said, in a Champions League match, it is necessary to be efficient in the box. We were not efficient in the two games.”

PSG crashed out after Mats Hummels headed in from a corner, to double Dortmund's lead on aggregate. The hosts had a number of chances to get themselves back into the game and Mbappe was left ruing their failure to convert.

“In decisive matches, in the Champions League, you have to be ruthless. And we were not ruthless enough. When I score, I take the light and I stand in front of you. When I don’t, I also take on the dark side," he said.

“No way. If we don’t convince ourselves that we can win, who will do it for us? Nobody. I don’t think that’s the problem, the group was calm like it has been since the start of the season.

“But everything is not to be thrown away, there are still goals, a Coupe de France final. We will continue to work and try to win it.”
