Best Lazio player: Provedel – At the end of the day, no outfield player emerged for Lazio except for, maybe, Rovella, but the Italian midfielder was replaced during the break because of an injury. Provedel could not avoid Pellegrini’s winner and kept Lazio in the game a few minutes later with a good save on Rensch at the near post.

Lowest Lazio rating: Tavares – Lost possession close to the box, leading to Roma’s winning goal. No surprise he didn’t return to the pitch after the break. Other Lazio players were disappointing. Reda Belahyane received a straight red card for an avoidable foul in the second half, and Boulaye Dia wasted the best chance of the game for Lazio.

Lazio coach: Sarri – Roma took the lead after Lazio had created some promising opportunities. The Biancocelesti reacted in the second half, but there’s irritability all over, as proved by the two red cards shown to his players, Belahyane and Guendouzi. Three defeats in four games: will he be able to turn it around?

Best Roma player: Rensch – Same rating as match-winner Pellegrini. Rensch replaced the injured Wesley, but the Brazilian was not missed as his teammate won the ball that Pellegrini converted in Roma’s winner. Rensch even had a chance to double the score, but was denied by Provedel. A solid performance overall.

Lowest Roma rating: Ferguson – Didn’t have any chance to hurt Lazio, but at least he helped the team defensively. Dovbyk didn’t do much more.
