Cricket is more than just a game in Pakistan – it is a passion that unites the nation. One of the most exciting developments in our cricketing journey has been the Pakistan Super League (PSL), launched by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in 2016. What began as a bold initiative to revive international-standard cricket has now become one of the most thrilling and competitive T20 leagues in the world. With the PSL’s landmark 10th edition underway, fans are eagerly anticipating 34 action-packed matches between six dynamic franchises. The tournament offers young cricketers a unique opportunity to showcase their skills on a global stage, where their hard work and passion can be recognised not just in Pakistan but worldwide.Sadly, young cricketers from Balochistan often appear to be underrepresented in this and other local tournaments. I respectfully urge the PCB to provide opportunities for young talent in Balochistan. There is no shortage of skill or passion – what’s missing is the necessary support, facilities and a clear pathway to professional cricket, in my opinion. By organising regular trials amd investing in infrastructure the PCB can unlock a hidden reservoir of talent.Huma ZahidKarachi
