Manchester United are waiting for clarity on the future of Bruno Fernandes, and he is no longer under the close watch of club staff.

Over the past week there has been growing speculation over Bruno Fernandes‘ future, amid a serious push from the Saudi Pro League to recruit him.

Al-Hilal are trying to lure Fernandes and could look to pair him with former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo in a double-deal.

In recent days Fernandes has been with Manchester United staff on the club’s money-spinning postseason tour.

Now he is away from the club, with uncertainty rising over whether he will return, with Sky Sports reporting United could receive a tempting £100 million offer.

Bruno Fernandes now in Portugal

Manchester United’s season is finally over. Bruno Fernandes’ campaign continues, with international football now on the calendar.

Portugal are set to face Germany in the UEFA Nations League semi-final, with a possible final against either Spain or France to follow.

Fernandes has now touched down in Portugal’s training base in Caxias, where he joins his teammates ahead of their fixture on June 4.

He will be spending time in the squad with Cristiano Ronaldo, linked with a similar move, and Al-Hilal player Ruben Neves.

Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot will have to be on close watch.

Fernandes shared a picture on Instagram of his arrival at the training facility, smiling as he wheeled his suitcase in to join his teammates.

Alejandro Garnacho responds

One Manchester United player reached out to respond to Bruno Fernandes’ post, and peculiarly it was the star most strongly linked with an exit.

Alejandro Garnacho responded to Fernandes’ post with a message echoing his chant, writing: “Brunooo brunooo, brunooo.”

Garnacho’s message is a reminder to Fernandes of how admired he is, especially among Manchester United supporters.

United fans are realistic enough to acknowledge the huge financial benefit of selling Fernandes, and we have also seen the huge amount of money wasted on players over the years, to be fearful of how it could be spent badly.

Fernandes is more than just a player, he is a leader, the team’s top creator and goalscorer last season.

At 30, we recognize he won’t be at United forever, but we hope he has a couple of years left in him. The Saudi Pro League can wait.
