Nottingham Forest boss Ange Postecoglou names team to face Burnley in crunch clash

Head coach Ange Postecoglou has named his Nottingham Forest team to take on Burnley in this afternoon’s Premier League clash.

The Reds go into the game at Turf Moor looking to claim their first win under their new boss at the third time of asking. Postecoglou has overseen two defeats so far, losing to Arsenal in the league and Swansea City in the Carabao Cup.

Wednesday night’s cup exit in south Wales was particularly galling for Forest. They had been 2-0 up in the third round tie only to lose 3-2 courtesy of two goals conceded in stoppage time.

On the back of those results, today’s match with the Clarets has taken on added significance for the Reds. Postecoglou has acknowledged its importance, but has put that down to needing to stop a losing run rather than any pressure to get his own tenure off the mark.

The former Tottenham Hotspur chief has rung the changes from the midweek tie with the Swans. He is without defender Murillo, who has not recovered from the knock he sustained against the Gunners last weekend.

With Murillo absent, Morato has retained his place in the back line from midweek. He will partner Nikola Milenkovic in the heart of the defence, with Neco Williams and Oleksandr Zinchenko on either side.

Douglas Luiz will start for the second successive game and will partner Elliot Anderson in midfield. Dilane Bakwa also keeps his place from Wednesday night and will join Dan Ndoye and Morgan Gibbs-White in providing attacking support for front man Chris Wood.

The bench will be made up of John Victor, Ibrahim Sangare, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Arnaud Kalimuendo, Igor Jesus, Omari Hutchinson, Ryan Yates, Jair Cunha and James McAtee.

Forest: Sels; Williams, Morato, Milenkovic, Zinchenko; Luiz, Anderson; Bakwa, Gibbs-White, Ndoye, Wood. Subs: John, Sangare, Hudson-Odoi, Kalimuendo, Jesus, Hutchinson, Yates, Cunha, McAtee.
