Carlos Alcaraz produced another fine display at the 2025 Queen’s Club Championships as he downed Roberto Bautista Agut to progress to his second final at the event.

The world No 2 prevailed 6-4, 6-4 against his 37-year-old Spanish compatriot in the semi-finals of the ATP 500 tournament.

Alcaraz hit 15 aces and saved the single break point he faced as he dominated on serve against the world No 51.

The five-time Grand Slam champion has lengthened his stellar winning streak to 17 matches — a run that features his clay-court title runs in Rome and at the French Open.

The Spanish star has won 26 of his last 27 matches since he started the clay season at the Monte Carlo Masters in April.

In his on-court interview, Alcaraz said: “I feel I am playing great tennis. After every match I am feeling more comfortable. Making the final here is so special once again.

“My family and I we always do everything, we have great vibes and I love playing tennis, I love making the crowds enjoy watching tennis and my games.

“I love that. Whenever I put a smile on my face I play my best tennis. I try to have fun and bring joy on the court. That is why I am making good results.

Watching Carlos Alcaraz’s Queen’s Club masterclass courtside – and one moment stood out

“I can’t thank enough the support I have received here since the first day. Thank you for the support and the energy the crowd brings.”

Alcaraz will face world No 30 Jiri Lehecka in the final at Queen’s Club after the 23-year-old Czech defeated second seed Jack Draper 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 in the semi-finals.

The 22-year-old’s semi-final victory against Bautista Agut was his 250th career win in his 311th match.

Only American legends John McEnroe (307 matches) and Jimmy Connors (310 matches) have reached the 250-win milestone in fewer ATP Tour matches than Alcaraz.

Commentating on BBC Sport at Queen’s, former British No 1 John Lloyd lauded Alcaraz’s display.

“He is a genius. We saw some shots today that no one else on the tour can play. I love watching him play,” said the Brit, who peaked at a career-high ranking of 23.

“You watch shots and say ‘I was there’ when he hits ridiculous shot after ridiculous shot. Today was exceptional.”

Alcaraz is chasing his fourth grass-court final and second Queen’s Club crown to add to his triumph in 2023.
