Indian cricket team bowlers have made a fiery start to Day 4 of the Lord's Test on Sunday. Mohammed Siraj is leading India’s effort by picking the first two wickets of the day as he dismissed England opener Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope. Since the spat between Shubman Gill and Zak Crawley on Saturday evening, Siraj has been fired up and he channeled that energy into his celebration after dismissing Duckett.

With the pitch being pretty placid so far, there’s a need for India to bowl out England as soon as possible to force a result in the third Test and take a 2-1 lead. The start on Day 4 was made by Siraj as Duckett got out playing a pull shot.

Siraj shows strong emotions as fans celebrate

The catch was taken at mid-on by Bumrah as Duckett failed to time his pull shot. What followed was some aggressive in-your-face celebration by Siraj while Duckett gave him a shoulder barge, showing his frustration.

The video of Siraj giving Duckett a send-off is going viral on social media as Indian cricket team fans celebrated the dismissal and the aggressive celebration.

“DSP SIRAJ RIGHT IN THE FACE OF BEN DUCKETT,” a fan wrote on X, celebrating the wicket.

Another fan said: “MOHAMMED SIRAJ MIYAAN REMOVES BEN DUCKETT. WHAT A START. AGGRESSIVE MIYAN CELEBRATION.”

Siraj accused of unsportsmanlike conduct

Some English fans, however, were not happy as they accused Siraj of Unsportsmanlike conduct.

“Siraj gets the wicket of Duckett, but that celebration was unacceptable. Charging in the batter’s face with shoulder contact crosses the line. Passion is fine — intimidation isn’t. Umpires should step in,” a fan from Manchester wrote.

Another England cricket team fan said: “Siraj’s in the face screaming and being vocal against Duckett was indefensible It was sheer unsportsmanship and DISGUSTING This was not cricket No never Siraj must be heavily fined and Gill needs to speak firmly to Siraj now to stop this type of act.”

Former England captain Nasser Hussain, however, defended Siraj on commentary as he pointed out that it was Duckett who was at fault while colliding with the pacer.
