Nuno: We're proving we can compete with the best

Callum Hudson-Odoi epitomised the quality that Nottingham Forest have shown this season during their 1-0 win over Manchester City.

It was his superb run and finish that earned the third-placed hosts their late 1-0 win over Pep Guardiola's team and boosted Forest's hopes of securing UEFA Champions League football for next season.

Alan Shearer, the Premier League's record goalscorer, has named Hudson-Odoi in his Matchweek 28 Team of the Week alongside three team-mates and head coach Nuno Espirito Santo.

Matz Sels (Nottingham Forest)

"He made some vital stops and commanded the box well to earn a league-leading 12th clean sheet of the season."

Ola Aina (Nottingham Forest)

"Worked his socks off with some non-stop running and relished his great battle with Jeremy Doku on the right side."

Axel Disasi (Aston Villa)

“Brilliant performance. A commanding presence at the back as he kept Bryan Mbeumo and co quiet.”

Murillo (Nottingham Forest)

"Another player who frustrated some top attacking players. He didn't put a foot wrong."

Milos Kerkez (AFC Bournemouth)

"A quality display, superbly creating the opening goal with a surging run and brilliant cross."

Declan Rice (Arsenal)

"He ensured the Gunners left Old Trafford with a point thanks to his excellent strike."

Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle)

"The captain led by example, stepping up with the winner. He did brilliantly to get on the end of Harvey Barnes’s cross and produce a fine finish."

Callum Hudson-Odoi (Nottingham Forest)

“His qualities are perfect for this Nottingham Forest team, who soak up pressure and then hit hard and fast with their wingers. It took a stunning Ederson save to deny him a goal before he scored the winner."

Bruno Fernandes (Man Utd)

"He was Man Utd's talisman once again, opening the scoring with a wonderful free-kick."

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)

"Held his nerve to score two penalties against Southampton, ensuring there was no slip-up against the bottom team after Liverpool went 1-0 down."

Darwin Nunez (Liverpool)

"He took his chance to make an impact, scoring the equaliser before winning the penalty that put Liverpool ahead."

Manager: Nuno Espirito Santo (Nottingham Forest)

"His game plan worked to perfection once again as Forest followed their 0-0 draw against Arsenal with a win over Man City. They fully deserve to be in the top four."
