India skipper Suryakumar Yadav finds himself in trouble if reports are to be believed. As reported by Dainik Jagran, ICC match referee Richie Richardson has sent an email to the Indian team management concerning skipper Suryakumar Yadav. The email acknowledges the complaint lodged by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regarding Suryakumar Yadav's remarks at the post-match presentation ceremony and the subsequent press conference after the group stage tie between India and Pakistan."The ICC has asked me to handle two reports lodged by the Pakistan Cricket Board regarding comments made by your captain, Suryakumar Yadav, during the presentation and post-match press conference after the India vs Pakistan match on September 14 2025. After examining the full reports and reviewing the evidence, I have concluded that a charge should be brought against Suryakumar Yadav for conduct that brings the game into dispute by making inappropriate comments, which are detrimental to the interest of the game," the email reportedly said.The report stated that Suryakumar will have to either accept the charge or face a formal hearing in the presence of the ICC match referee, a representative from both BCCI and PCB, and the captain himself.Explained: Why Indian football team won’t be able to take part in 2026 Asian GamesThe much-debated contest in the backdrop of the recent Pahalgam attack had witnessed plenty of backlash and demands of boycott. Despite that the match went ahead and it wasn't cricket but the no-handshake policy that took centerstage. Suryakumar refused to engage in the customary handshake both at the toss and post-match with the Indian team also shutting the door at Pakistan players face.And during the post-match presentation ceremony, which Pakistan boycotted, Suryakumar dedicated the win to Indian Armed Forces and expressed solidarity with the victims of Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 tourists in April this year.India have so far met Pakistan twice in the tournament and both have been one-sided affair in terms of cricket. However, the tension between the two teams have remained at an all time high with Pakistan players indulging in controversial celebration and gestures.The BCCI too has filed an official complaint with the ICC against Pakistan cricketers Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan for their provocative gestures during the Super Four meeting between the two sides.
