Despite experiencing a mixed start to the season at both club and international level, you would expected Brentford and Ireland defender Nathan Collins to regain his form over the coming weeks.

The 24-year old has made serious strides in his game over the last couple of years, becoming one of the most reliable centre backs in the Premier League in the process. As a result, it was no surprise to see him linked with a number of big clubs during the summer transfer window.

Even though he has struggled in recent weeks, it seems one team still maintains a firm interesting in his services.

Premier League Giants Eyeing January Move For Ireland's Nathan Collins

TBR Football are reporting that Tottenham Hotspur are already eyeing a January move for Nathan Collins.

Of course, Spurs boss Thomas Frank knows the Ireland player well, having worked with him at Brentford for two seasons prior to his move to North London. It is thought that Spurs will be in the market for a centre back during the winter window, with Collins said to be at the top of their wishlist.

It remains to be seen how realistic a deal would be. Collins was named as Brentford captain prior to the start of the season and Keith Andrews will no doubt be hesitant to lose the player midway through the campaign.

This one could come down to a matter of finances, with Brentford having shown a willingness to sell if the money is right. As for the player himself, a move to a Champions League club would no doubt appeal, as would working with the manager who brought his game to the next level over the last couple of seasons.

This is one to keep an eye on over the coming months.
