It is going to take some time before we see Derby County at full strength, chiefly due to the injuries, while others lack full match sharpness.

Seven players look set to miss the return of Frank Lampard and his Coventry team, with Corey Blackett-Taylor being the latest addition to the treatment table.

No further issues were reported after Tuesday's dramatic Carabao Cup win over West Brom, which booked Derby a second-round tie at Burnley.

Carlton Morris, Jacob Widell Zetterstrom, Matt Clarke, Ryan Nyambe, and Liam Thompson will all return to the squad after being rested in midweek, giving John Eustace further options for the Sky Blues' visit.

Perhaps Eustace's biggest issue is what he does to replace Blackett-Taylor, given that there is not really an authentic winger as backup.

Bobby Clark could be an option, having played on the left-hand side in midweek, but he is still working his way back to full match fitness.

But the 65 minutes he played against West Brom did him the power of good, and it may well be that he is not ready to play a full 90 just yet. Eustace could well repeat what he did on Tuesday, which would be to give him another hour or so before replacing him.

Outside of that, the right wing is also a position of interest, given Joe Ward's impressive performance in the second half on Tuesday, which would threaten Kayden Jackson's return to the starting XI.

Josh Vickers' heroics in the penalty shootout against Albion mean Zetterstrom's return is by no means a foregone conclusion, but the latter may just be given the nod.

At right-back Nyambe should come back into the fold while Dion Sanderson could well partner Clarke in the centre-back positions, with Craig Forsyth at left-back. Liverpool loanee Owen Beck is still sidelined and Eustace confirmed yesterday that he will not be back until after the international break.

David Ozoh looked sharp against West Brom and should start against Coventry and it will be fascinating to see who plays alongside him.

Ebou Adams has been preferred as a 10 rather than a six this season, a result of Derby wanting to be more progressive in possession as this team evolves under Eustace's leadership.

While Adams brings tenacity, energy and plenty of desire, being that midfielder capable of feeding the ball through the lines is not really his forte.

That would leave Kenzo Goudmijn and Liam Thompson to fight for the last spot in front of the back four and the latter's freshness may well be preferred.

On the left of the three behind the striker, Clark showed he is capable of handling that position while Derby seek to sign a winger with Lommel's Koki Saito, who was on loan at QPR last season, currently piquing their interest.

Adams may well continue in the 10 while Ward, after his performance on Tuesday, could well retain his place.

Morris will lead the line and will be ready and raring to go after opening his account against Stoke City last weekend in a game that proved that if you give him the service, he will score goals.

Given Ward's crossing ability and Morris' aerial prowess, that combination certainly looks like it could yield goals.

Derby (4-2-3-1): Zetterstrom, Nyambe, Sanderson, Clarke, Forsyth; Ozoh, Thompson; Ward, Adams, Clark; Morris
