NFL training camp 2025 news, live updates: Shedeur Sanders talks Browns' competition while Justin Fields is 'day to day'

All 32 NFL teams have reported to training camp, and there's no shortage of intrigue and storylines so far.

Shedeur Sanders spoke for the first time at Cleveland Browns training camp, and the fifth-round rookie was asked about why he isn't getting reps with the first team thus far.

"That's not my place to answer, to even be able to give the answer to that. I feel like it's not in my control, so I'm not even gonna have that in my thought process," Sanders said.

Sanders also addressed being cited twice for speeding in June.

"Yeah I definitely learned not to drive fast, so I really don't drive like that much anymore," he said.

At Jets camp, meanwhile, Justin Fields is already back at practice Friday and "day to day" per head coach Aaron Glenn, a day after being carted off with a dislocated toe.

That should come as a welcome sign for Jets fans hoping Fields can bring some stability to the quarterback position in 2025, as well as NFL fans hoping to watch one of the league's most interesting offenses.

The Raiders sent shockwaves through the NFL on Thursday evening by releasing defensive tackle Christian Wilkins, who signed for big money in free agency barely a year ago. The reason? Wilkins had "no clear path or plan for future return to play" from a Jones fracture in his foot suffered last season. The Raiders reportedly wanted Wilkins to have surgery, but he resisted. Wilkins has filed a grievance with the NFLPA attempting to recoup the $35.2 million in voided guarantees.

Browns general manager Andrew Berry said Thursday he's open to keeping four quarterbacks for his opening-day roster. They were on display again for the second practice of training camp, with Joe Flacco leading a fluid rotation.
