Latest Chelsea injury news and return dates ahead of Man Utd

Enzo Maresca could have been handed two fresh Chelsea injury concerns during the 3-1 Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich. A Harry Kane brace and Trevoh Chalobah's own goal saw a Cole Palmer strike, on his first start in several weeks, become merely a consolation.

The Blues talisman was back in the starting XI after returning to action from a groin injury this past weekend. The England international scored in Saturday's 2-2 draw against Brentford and thought he had a brace at Allianz Arena, but his second goal was disallowed.

Following a disappointing defeat, attention will swiftly turn to their next clash, which comes in the Premier League against Manchester United. With such a tight turnaround and potential issues emerging, Maresca may be forced into making some changes.

With that being said, football.london has taken a look at the latest Chelsea injury news ahead of their trip to Old Trafford.

Cole Palmer

Injury: Groin

Palmer appeared to be holding his groin in the latter stages of Chelsea's defeat to Bayern. An issue in that area has been plaguing him since the opening day draw against Crystal Palace.

What Maresca has said: "Cole, I think, is okay. He said he was okay."

Trevoh Chalobah

Injury: Shoulder

Chalobah received treatment from Chelsea physios in the second half after a collision with Kane resulted in him clutching his left shoulder. As he came back on to complete the game, it is unlikely he has suffered an injury.

Benoit Badiashile

Having missed the start of the season, Benoit Badiashile was back in Chelsea training earlier this week but may still be a few games away from returning.

What Maresca has said: "Romeo and Benoit, I don't think they will be back after the international break, but they will be closer."

Potential return date: Brighton (H) - Saturday, September 27.

Romeo Lavia

Lavia was also spotted on the grass at London Colney and is expected to return later this month

What Maresca has said: "Romeo and Benoit, I don't think they will be back after the international break, but they will be closer."

Potential return date: Brighton (H) - Saturday, September 27.

Liam Delap

Injury: Hamstring

Delap suffered a hamstring injury in the 2-0 win over Fulham earlier this month. A return to action is unlikely before December 2025.

What Maresca has said: "Liam is around 10-12 weeks, so a long way to go."

Potential return date: December 2025

Dario Essugo

After picking up a thigh injury on international duty with Portugal, Essugo underwent surgery and is expected to miss the next few months.

Potential return date: Early 2026

Levi Colwill

Injury: Knee

Colwill is expected to miss the bulk of the 2025/26 season after suffering an ACL injury.
