Darren Bent tells £50m Premier League star to leave his club and join Liverpool

Liverpool are having a fantastic summer transfer window.

The Reds won the Premier League title last season, and instead of resting on their laurels, they have gone out and strengthened their squad.

Jeremie Frimpong was brought in to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Liverpool then smashed their transfer record to sign Florian Wirtz.

Arne Slot is not done just yet — he is looking for more signings, and Darren Bent has urged one of Liverpool’s targets to move to Anfield this summer.

Marc Guehi is expected to be on the move this summer.

The Crystal Palace star is among the best defenders in the Premier League and has proved that he is good enough to play for a bigger club.

Liverpool are interested in signing Guehi, who will enter the final year of his contract at Crystal Palace on the first day of July.

The Englishman will not be short of suitors this summer, and reports have claimed that Liverpool could sign Guehi for £50 million.

Bent, who once left Charlton to join Tottenham, has now urged Guehi to leave Crystal Palace and move to the Premier League champions this summer.

He said on talkSPORT: “It’s a difficult one, but if Liverpool come calling, certainly with the way Liverpool are recruiting at the minute and thickening their squad, that’s the place to go.

“I get it, you may have to go there and battle for a spot, but I think Konate has got one year left, he (Guehi) has got one year left, it might be best for all parties, including the player — Liverpool sell Konate to Real Madrid if they are willing to pay and then you buy Guehi, and then neither goes for free.

“You (both) get a fee for both players, and Guehi can go to Liverpool and start. I’m a big fan of his.”

The latest on Ibrahima Konate’s Liverpool future

Ibrahima Konate’s future has been up in the air for a long time.

The Frenchman is about to enter the final year of his deal at Anfield, and TBR Football revealed recently that Konate is demanding big money to sign a new Liverpool deal.

That may force Liverpool to sell him this summer, and Guehi would be a fantastic replacement for the former RB Leipzig man.

The England defender is younger, home-grown and has been fantastic over the years. He can play on both sides of central defence with ease and is often very reliable.

If Liverpool can get Guehi, they should cash in on Konate to avoid losing him for free in 12 months’ time.
