Naomi Osaka has likened her new coach to a “teddy bear” as the Japanese tennis star bids to reach the US Open final.The two-time US Open champion faces Amanda Anisimova in the semi-finals on Thursday.Osaka teamed up with Tomasz Wiktorowski shortly after the Washington Open and has enjoyed a resurgence under the Polish coach in recent weeks."He seemed like such a tough guy to me but actually, when he smiles, he really is like a teddy bear,” Osaka said."When we talk after matches, he's not harsh at all. He's, like, always very proud and encouraging."I feel like it kind of creates a safe space for me to be able to express myself and my tennis."
