Big play observations: The other guys

There were a handful of big plays that helped make a difference for South Carolina in the 24-11 win over Virginia Tech.

LaNorris Sellers, Nyck Harbor, Vicari Swain, Fred Johnson and Peyton Williams all had a little bit of help, to make those touchdowns, interceptions and big, important plays.

Under Shane Beamer, the Gamecocks have built a reputation on Beamer Ball, but there's more to the identity of the program that big moments on special teams. Clayton White's defenses, when they're at their best, have forced a good many turnovers. Then on offense, Sellers and Harbor among the biggest freaks in college football, according to at least one list.

Win No. 1 in 2025 was a total team effort for South Carolina. Here are some of the unsung heroes we noticed after watching some of the highlights from Sunday afternoon at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
