Jason Kelce and his brother, Travis Kelce, have become two of the most well known figures in all of football.

The retired Philadelphia Eagles great and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end have combined to win four Super Bowls. They've made hundreds of millions of dollars, both on and off of the field. While they've starred on the field, they've also become huge off of it, co-hosting their own podcast, "New Heights," while starring in various commercials and endorsement campaigns.

Jason and Travis Kelce have mostly stayed down the middle when it comes to the political or social commentary world. Jason Kelce probably thought he was doing that on Friday, when he made a Fourth of July post.

But Jason Kelce proceeded to get ripped by some for his "out of touch" post about the American holiday.

Kelce, who retired following the 2023 season, made it clear that he loves America. The retired NFL great understands that this country has a lot of problems. However, on the Fourth of July - America's birthday - he felt that it was important to show his love for his country - and he wanted everyone else to do the same.

"Man I love the 4th! One of the great days we all can set aside our differences in this country, and enjoy the one thing we all share in common. That we are American! Cheers to you oh beautiful America," he wrote.

Not everyone loved the post, though. Some took to social media to accuse him of being "out of touch." Others, though, defended him, saying there was nothing wrong with what he said.

Kelce, rightfully, is standing by his comment. You don't have to agree or disagree with him. But living in this country, Kelce has all the right in the world to post something like that, especially on the Fourth of July.

While some might have been bothered by his comment, most appear to be in agreement with him.

Hopefully, it was a fun Fourth of July holiday for the retired NFL great and his friends and family down the shore in New Jersey.
