Alex de Minaur kicks off the 2025 tennis season full of confidence, eager to perform at his home Grand Slam, the Australian Open.

The Australian reached a career-best ranking of world number six in 2024, going into the new year as world no. 8 and setting his sights high for the campaign ahead.

De Minaur said at the tournament’s media day on Friday (10 January), “Every time I come here to the Australian Open, I feel like I'm a better version of what I was the year before. I've learnt so much. I'm playing with a lot more confidence. I'm doing all the right things.”

The 25-year-old has reached the fourth round of the Australian Open in three consecutive years, as he targets a first appearance in the quarter-finals as he has done in every other Grand Slam in the past 12 months.
