IND v SA 2025: Nitish Kumar Reddy released from India’s squad for Kolkata Test

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday (November 12) confirmed the release of Nitish Kumar Reddy from India’s squad for the first Test against South Africa, slated to start on November 14 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Instead, Reddy will feature in the three one-day matches against South Africa A in Rajkot and will rejoin the Test squad for the second game in Guwahati, due to be played from November 22-26.

“All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been released from India’s squad for the first Test against South Africa. Nitish will join the India A squad for the One-day series against South Africa A in Rajkot. The three One-days between India A and South Africa A will take place from 13th to 19th November at the Niranjan Shah Stadium,” BCCI said in a statement.

“Reddy will return to the squad for the second Test post the conclusion of the 'A' series,” the statement added.
