Former Australian Under-19 World Cup champion Harjas Singh has earned a maiden NSW second XI call-up following last week’s record-breaking triple-century for Western Suburbs.Last week, the 20-year-old made global headlines after smacking a 141-ball 314 in a one-day contest against Sydney Cricket Club at Ashfield’s Pratten Park, the third-highest individual score in NSW Premier first-grade history. He struck 35 sixes during the whirlwind knock, steering Western Suburbs towards a record-breaking total of 5-483.Watch live coverage of the 2025 Marsh One Day Cup on Kayo Sports | New to Kayo? You can be up one week and then next week against Parramatta get a duck, so you never know how cricket’s going to.”Singh represented Australia during last year’s triumphant Under-19 World Cup campaign in South Africa, playing alongside the likes of Sam Konstas and Mahli Beardman. He top-scored for Australia in the final against India with a counterpunching 55 from 64 balls.Three years ago, the left-hander became the eighth-youngest cricketer to score a century in Sydney’s first-grade competition, achieving the feat before his 17th birthday. He is mentored by high-profile batting coach Neil D’Costa, who boasts a network of players, including Marnus Labuschagne, Michael Clarke and Phillip Hughes.Singh represented the Sydney Thunder during a T10 competition earlier this year, but the men in lime green will no doubt be considering him for a Big Bash debut sometime this summer.
