Legendary competitive eater Joey Chestnut has added another jaw-dropping achievement to his resume, demolishing 26.5 pounds of poutine to win the 2025 World Poutine Eating Championship in Toronto.The 41-year-old, widely regarded as the greatest eater of all time, proved once again why he’s in a league of his own.Chestnut put away 53 boxes of Canada’s iconic dish in just 10 minutes, miles ahead of the second-place finisher who managed 19 pounds.Chestnut’s poutine dominance continues in 2025Poutine, a heavy mix of fries, gravy, and cheese curds, isn’t exactly the easiest dish to devour in bulk. Competitors at Smoke’s Poutinerie’s annual championship had to shovel box after box down as fast as possible. For Chestnut, though, it looked almost routine.Despite the massive haul, it wasn’t even his personal best. Back in 2019, Chestnut consumed 28 pounds of poutine in 10 minutes, setting a world record that still hasn’t been topped.Best known for his hot dog eating dominance at Nathan’s Famous on July 4th, Chestnut has built a reputation that rivals some of the greatest athletes in individual sports, with his name mentioned alongside the likes of Magnus Carlsen in chess and Novak Djokovic in tennis.With another championship to his name, Joey Chestnut shows no signs of slowing down, and once again, Canada’s national dish fell victim to his unmatched appetite.
