Unless the Giants up the proposal, a move to Moorabbin now appears almost inevitable.”The Saints are also a big chance of landing Carlton ruck Tom De Koning, in what would be a big double boost for Ross Lyon’s side.Star youngster Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera is yet to recommit to the club however, but there’s still a bit to play out there.Stringer on moment he 'arrived' at GWS | 00:46GIANT DECISION LOOMSElsewhere, midfielder Xavier O’Halloran looks likely to pledge his allegiance to the Giants this year, despite the Western Bulldogs pursuing him heavily during last year’s trade period.According to AFL Media’s Cal Twomey, the Giants have tabled a three-year offer to O’Halloran who has discovered some career-best form in 2025.“Xavier O’Halloran has got an upped offer of three years to stay at the footy club,” Twomey said on AFL Media’s Gettable.“I reckon he stays now. The fact that the Giants have upped it to three years will match the offer that the Western Bulldogs put to him last year,” co-host Riley Beveridge added.“The Doggies had a four-year deal on the table for Xavier O’Halloran last year, which would’ve taken him through to 2028. I think he wanted to replicate that at the Giants and he was comfortable staying there.“I think he stays now, he’s such an integral part of that side. He’s really worked his way into the team under Adam Kingsley and he had a career-best game a couple of weeks ago playing through the midfield. My view now is that he stays at the Giants.”With Leek Aleer likely on the way out and untried tall Wade Derksen also with one foot already out the door, the Giants won’t want to lose too many other depth options.AFL Hall of Fame legend dead aged 77 | 00:38BLUES STAR UP FOR TRADE?As Carlton slump to 12th on the AFL ladder with a win-loss record of 6-11, the Blues weigh up what the future holds. There’s no shortage of star talent at the Blues right now, but they’re not getting it done, so which stars could be up on the trade table? There’s one Blue who might be more open to a move than others.“I think this might be the biggest watch at the end of the season… there are so many decisions to make at Carlton,” AFL Media’s Cal Twomey told Gettable this week.“Would they be open to any trade for Charlie Curnow and Sam Walsh? I don’t think they would be at this stage, but I still think they’re two players clubs are going to pursue and are pursuing.Dons prepare for 'challenge game' v GWS | 03:02“Harry McKay for me is definitely gettable in my view, from an openness to have that discussion point of view at the Blues. Curnow will be watching with interest as well, if anything comes and is really strongly put to them, what they do on that front.“Certainly a case of watch this space on Carlton as a whole and what they do in the trade space.”Twomey’s co-host Riley Beveridge outlined why it is a tricky situation to navigate for Carlton, who made a preliminary final just two years ago.“It’s a really hard one for Carlton to navigate because they do need to find ways to get better but they are restricted how much they can move into the football club given the cap issues they’ve had over the last couple of years.”The Blues take on Melbourne on Saturday.
