Manchester United have been informed they have a week to complete the signing of Fiorentina centre-forward Moise Kean this summer - if they wish to do so.

The former Everton man had a difficult time in the Premier League during his first stint in the English top-flight. He scored just four goals in 39 appearances for the Toffees.

However, upon returning to Italy, via an initial loan to PSG and a second spell at Juventus, Kean has managed to rediscover the sort of form which made him such an exciting prospect. The 25-year-old scored 19 goals in Serie A last season - his best campaign in senior football.

This has, unsurprisingly, caught the eye of United and, according to The Athletic, the Reds have been the Premier League club most interested in Kean. However, if United are to snap him up, they will need to work quickly.

It is understood that Kean has a £44.8m release clause inserted into his Fiorentina contract. However, that clause expires on Tuesday, July 15 and if it is not triggered prior to then, the Italian club are under no obligation to accept a bid as low as that this summer.

If United truly are keen on Kean, it will spark a quandary for the recruitment team. The Manchester Evening News understands that Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo is the top target for the club at the moment - and United still remain confident of signing him despite seeing two bids rejected.

Should they complete a move for Mbeumo, like to cost more than £63m, United's hands could be tied until they sell players. Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia have all informed the club that they wish to seek opportunities elsewhere.

Now we have entered July, it is less of a necessity to sell before buying but Ineos will still need to bring in a good chunk of money before the window shuts to balance the books.

They attempted to sign Liam Delap before his move to Chelsea. A striker is very much on their wish-list - to act as competition for Rasmus Hojlund.
