After suffering a tough defeat in the series opener at Headingley, Team India roared back with a statement win, annihilating England by a staggering 336 runs at their fortress, Edgbaston. Led by Shubman Gill, India plugged the gaps that were brutally exposed in the first Test and responded in style to level the five-match series 1-1. After that game, former England captain Michael Vaughan, known for his frequent jabs at Indian cricket, once again invited the ire of fans after doubling down on his pre-series prediction of a 3-1 England win.

Even after admitting that India were “outstanding” at Edgbaston, Vaughan insisted the hosts will bounce back and take the series. Cut short to the Oval Test where India roared back into the contest to finish the series 2-2, he has got brutally trolled.

Social media has erupted with fans trolling Vaughan, calling his prediction “delusional” and accusing him of underestimating India—again.

Memes, sarcastic comments, and throwbacks to Vaughan’s past predictions that went hilariously wrong have taken over timelines. Another Ex-England cricketer Graeme Swann has faced the trolling due because he labelled the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 'a good warmup for the Ashes'.
