(Image: Photo by Michael Steele/Getty Images )Football finance expert Stefan Borson has claimed that Aston Villa could sign Manchester United star Marcus Rashford and avoid impacting their Profit and Sustainability threshold in the Premier League. The 27-year-old made the move across the English top-flight to Villa Park in February ending a difficult period under Erik ten Hag and his successor Ruben Amorim. As part of the deal, Unai Emery's side cover at least 75 percent of the academy graduate's salary which may rise to 90 percent, should he hit performance-related bonuses.Villa have an option to buy Rashford in the summer which will provide the Portuguese tactician some much-needed funds to reinforce the playing squad amid the financial difficulties at Old Trafford.Rashford has enjoyed a rich vein of form since making the Midlands switch with three goals and six assists in 16 appearances for Villa. His positive displays in the claret and blue have sparked speculation over his future at United but the problem for Villa is remaining above the red line for the Premier League's PSR rules.Article continues belowIn March, the club announced that it recorded £85.4million losses, having lost £119.6m 12 months earlier, with the reduction in part down to their qualification for European football. And Borson has claimed that Villa can sign Rashford and his permanent arrival will not have a detrimental impact on their Profit and Sustainability."It would be interesting to see what the date is on the option," he told Football Insider. "It’s probably 30 June, so they’ll be able to make a decision right at the end."The thing is, rather than PSR, it’s probably more dependent on Champions League qualification."Because if you do the maths on the incremental cost of Rashford in this season, the point is it makes no difference."If you buy Rashford on 30 June, it doesn’t impact your PSR position for this season at all because all of the amortisation is next season."They have already got to pay his wages, whatever that proportion is."They have already got to pay that for this particular PSR season, so their PSR impact is for next season."Of course, the PSR impact for next season will be dependent on the Champions League.Article continues below"It will just make a very material difference to their calculation and to what the numbers look like, with the profits and everything else."
