Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has described winger Amad as 'magical' ahead of the Premier League's return on Sunday at home to Arsenal.

The Reds enter the match knowing they need to show drastic improvements from last season which fell well below the bar set at the club. Defeat in the Europa League final to Tottenham Hotspur ensured the Reds are without European football this season.

The consensus is that Ruben Amorim's side will benefit from a full focus on domestic competitions with the goal being to re-enter European football in the 2026/27 season. In order to do that, United have entered the summer transfer market adding four first-team players to their squad.

United's priority has clearly been on the attack with Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko all added to boost the forward line. However, it is one of the old guard that Fernandes decided to praise on social media ahead of the start of the Premier League campaign.

Sharing a clip from a media day where Amad looked to show off his golfing prowess, Fernandes was left in hysterics as the Ivorian fluffed his shot and the ball barely moved off its tee. Posting the video to Instagram, the Portuguese midfielder captioned it: "Luckily for us, his left foot is magical.

"Not like his hands." This campaign, United supporters can expect to see Amad utilised as a wing-back.

Bruno Fernandes' message to Amad ahead of the new Premier League season

When Amorim arrived, the winger was played in the No.10 positions but after Cunha and Mbeumo joined the team, it appears that Amad is being groomed to play as a wing-back offering plenty of pace and talent at both ends of the pitch. Battling for that position on the right will be Diogo Dalot who was handed a shirt number upgrade this summer.
