‘Unbelievable’ – Kris Boyd in disbelief at what he saw Leeds United star do vs Wolves

Kris Boyd was blown away by what he saw in Leeds United’s first away win of the season.

The wait for an away win ended on Saturday, when Leeds secured a 3-1 victory against Wolves, who look destined for a season towards the bottom of the Premier League.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin earned plenty of praise for his involvement in the win, though it was a team performance from the Whites that saw them return to Elland Road with all three points.

However, it was a moment in the first half at Molineux that left Boyd stunned, with a reaction that was almost certainly echoed by many.

Anton Stach steals Calvert-Lewin’s thunder vs Wolves

Calvert-Lewin’s performance will be talked about all week, but a moment of sheer quality from Anton Stach stole the headlines that weren’t already taken by the result.

MORE LEEDS STORIES

With the score level at 1-1, the German stepped up to fire a remarkable free kick into the top right corner from range, leaving Jose Sa helpless.

The strike led to bedlam in the away end and sparked disbelief on the part of Boyd, who was reacting to the goal live on Sky Sports News.

He said: “What a goal this is from Anton Stach. The free-kick is 20-25 yards out and he passes it into the net.

“It’s an unbelievable strike that gives Jose Sa no chance whatsoever.”

It proved to be the goal that would completely turn the momentum of the game on its head, with Wolves unable to leave a mark on the Whites from there on out.

Anton Stach quality prevails again for Leeds

Since arriving at Elland Road, Stach has been outstanding for Leeds more often than not, and it was the same story against Wolves.

The German showcased a level of composure in his game that saw him run the midfield at Molineux, and, not for the first time, provided the goods with another long-range strike.

There are still areas of his game that require some attention, but for a player to have adjusted to Premier League football this quickly is nothing short of remarkable.

Keeping him fit is looking as though it is going to be key for Leeds if they are to avoid relegation back to the Championship.
