Ashes Boxing Day Test headlines the MCG's 2025/26 summer of cricket

The Boxing Day Test (December 26-30) will see Australia take on England in the battle for The Ashes urn, whilst India returns to the ‘G on October 31 for a T20 International.Having retained The Ashes for the last four series, Australia will look to make it five in a row and extend the streak to eight years.The Boxing Day Test match – the third of a five-Test series – will see one of the biggest rivalries in world sport ignite with bragging rights on the line and the opportunity to have one hand on the urn at the conclusion of the match.When the two teams last met in the Boxing Day Test in December, 2021 – it was a convincing win for Australia by an innings and 14 runs to retain The Ashes with two Tests remaining.The match saw the emergence of hometown hero, Scott Boland, who was named Player of the Match with his second-innings haul of 6/7.Earlier in the summer, the MCG will also host a T20 International between Australia and India.The second match of a five-match series, the T20I sees Australia return to the MCG following a thrilling 2024 Boxing Day Test to play their first T20I at the stadium since the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2022.Tickets for both matches will be available via Ticketek from Tuesday June 3 for Australian Cricket Family members, and Friday June 13 for general public.
