Aaron Ramsey's family 'haunted' by dog's disappearance

The disappearance of Wales football captain Aaron Ramsey's dog in Mexico "will continue to haunt" his family, they have said.

The family's dog, Halo, "got lost" at a ranch in the Guanajuato region last month and has been missing for four weeks despite appeals and a $20,000 (£15,000) reward.

In a statement released on Monday, the family said they are "trying to accept that she has most likely passed away".

They added: "We don't think we will ever know what happened. We won't 'move on' from this as you would typically. This will continue to haunt us."

The former Arsenal and Cardiff midfielder said the 10-year-old dog was last seen in San Miguel de Allende.

The beagle, who went missing on 9 October, was wearing a dog tracker collar and Ramsey shared a Google Maps location of where she was last seen.

The family added they did not know Halo was missing from the ranch until after a week and then spent three weeks trying to "find answers".

The statement comes after reports Ramsey and his club Pumas UNAM had mutually terminated his contract after playing in six games.

The BBC has approached the Mexico City club to confirm the reports.
