Achraf Hakimi has been named in the 2024–25 FIFPRO Men’s World XI, as Paris Saint-Germain players dominated this year’s line-up following their Champions League win.

The Moroccan defender was one of five PSG players included, alongside Nuno Mendes, Vitinha, Ousmane Dembélé and goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who has since joined Manchester City.

Hakimi, 27, is the only African player in this year’s men’s XI. He has been central to PSG’s success, praised for his speed, consistency and attacking play from the right flank during their European campaign.

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk also made the defence, while Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappé were among the midfielders and forwards selected. Barcelona’s Pedri and 18-year-old Lamine Yamal were also included, with Yamal becoming the youngest player ever named in the FIFPRO World XI.

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland missed out despite another prolific season in front of goal.

In the women’s category, England’s Lucy Bronze set a new record with her eighth appearance in the World XI – the most by any female player. She was one of six Lionesses chosen, alongside Millie Bright, Leah Williamson, Alessia Russo, Chloe Kelly and goalkeeper Hannah Hampton.

Morocco’s Ghizlane Chebbak was also recognised, earning a place in midfield following her performances across Spain and Saudi Arabia.

The FIFPRO World XI is the only global football award decided exclusively by votes from professional players. The team was voted for by more than 26,000 professional footballers from 68 countries.
