Carlos Alcaraz has already matched one of Rafael Nadal's career achievements after winning the Queen's title again

Carlos Alcaraz is the Queen’s champion once again, after defeating Jiri Lehecka over three sets at the Andy Murray arena.

Alcaraz beat Lehecka 7-5, 6-7, 6-2, to secure his 21st career title, and fifth of the season so far.

The Spaniard extended his winning streak to 18, and has now picked up a title on all three surfaces this year.

It’s yet another accolade for Alcaraz, who has already matched one of Rafael Nadal‘s career achievements with his win over the Czech star at Queen’s.

Carlos Alcaraz matches one of Rafael Nadal’s career achievements

In his victory, Alcaraz has sealed the fourth grass court title of his career, having won both Queen’s and Wimbledon twice each.

His tally has already matched that of Nadal’s, who himself won at the All England club twice, and picked up a Queen’s title in 2008, as well as a Stuttgart Open crown in 2015.

Should the five-time Grand Slam champion emerge victorious in SW19 this year, he will surpass his compatriot at the age of 22.

Nadal’s last time finishing runner-up at a grass-court event was in 2011, when he lost the Wimbledon final against Novak Djokovic.

Carlos Alcaraz’s 18-match winning streak

Alcaraz has not lost a match since the 20th of April, when he was defeated by Holger Rune in the final of the Barcelona Open.

Since then, he has won three tournaments in a row: the Italian Open, Roland Garros, and now Queen’s.

During the streak, Alcaraz has picked up wins against Jack Draper, Lorenzo Musetti and has earned two victories over world number one Jannik Sinner.

He is also on a 12-match winning streak on grass, which dates back to Wimbledon last year.

The two-time champion in South West London will now begin his pursuit of a three-peat at the championships.
